The 14th Tihany Symposium will take place in Siófok, a town on the south coast of Lake Balaton. Having the largest population among towns around the lake, Siófok is often referred to as the capital of the Lake Balaton.  Located in the Transdanubian region of Hungary, Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe and one of its foremost tourist destinations. Siófok, a charming little town is one of the most popular holiday resorts in Hungary, which could preserve a village-like style despite urbanization. The population is around 35,000 people but in the summer season there is another 200,000 people being on vacation at the same time. The name of the city means Cape Sió (Sió is a river connecting the Lake with river Danube).

Its harbour has opened up for traffic in 1864 with the reception of the first side-wheeler called Kisfaludy steamboat. Visitors can see boats from the 19th century even nowadays. Besides, Siófok has the busiest port of the lake. Parks with diverse flora turn the city even more colourful and attractive. You can find a colourful rose garden in shore followed by huge sycamores, which create a special atmosphere.

Hotel Azúr (Siófok, Erkel Ferenc str. 2/c) (https://www.hotelazur.hu/en) a wonderful Mediterranean style hotel, situated in three buildings, is the largest conference and wellness centre of the region. The conference division, which is uniquely equipped in the region in terms of technology, thus confers a central role to the hotel in business life.

The hotel’s Wellness Centre ensures the rejuvenation of body and soul. The purpose of their relaxing and refreshing programs is to allow our guests to completely forget the negative effects of their everyday life and stress during their stay. Beside the Lake, nearly 1000 m2 water surfaces of the bathing facilities of the Wellness Centre afford excellent opportunities for relaxation, rejuvenation and recreation.
